How cute?

Friday, November 21st, 2008

I wanted to share with you this fantastic picture of our two baby marmoset monkeys. They are unbelievably cute and it is difficult to do any work as I can't stop watching them getting up to all sorts of antics throughout the day!

Cheeky monkeys!

I’ve just seen the entries for the Evening Mail’s 5-13 Club competition to name our Marmosets. They’re REALLY good and some of the more creative entries had even drawn pictures (I’ve posted a couple below).

Anyway, after a rather heated debate with the Talks Team, we’ve finally settled on the winning names….we’re going for Marmite and Marmalade – so well done David, you’re a winner!

Oscar goes back to school!

Friday, November 7th, 2008

I had a fantastic morning this morning, I got chance to venture out of the aquarium and visit a nice little school. The purpose of my visit was to congratulate Celeste Houghton of St Cuthbert's Catholic Primary, Windermere for winning our poetry contest. She wrote a wonderful poem titled 'Where have the stars gone'.

Although I have only been to otter school I can tell that this is a very well written poem and I like to read it every morning before I go to sleep.

Even our snake gets a new winter outfit!

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

It may seem to some that our snake is falling a part, as he has spent the last few days shedding his skin.

If you look close in the tank now you can find large pieces of snake skin amongst the foliage!

At least he has a nice new outfit for the winter months, unlike me though I don't think he needs matching new shoes!
