Where has the water gone?

Mia and Smudge have had a great week. Not only have they had more play mates in their enclosure complete with fun cleaning equipment but they have also had there pool drained, cleaned and filled with fresh water.

Check out our baby scorpions as they cling to their parents back. They may look innocent now but in a few months they will just as scary as their parents.

The young were born one by one, and will be carried on their mother's back until they have undergone their first moult. Before this moult they cannot survive without the mother.

Today our otters and their keeper Gareth are being filmed by ITV for inclusion in a television series focussed on the Lake District. Both Mia and Smudge have been enjoying being the stars of the show.

As you travel through the Lake District keep your eyes peeled for our naughty marmosets who are riding around on the 555 buses between Lancaster and Keswick.
